Niger State Governor, Hon Umar Bago has given an order for cease and search by safety operatives in an effort to curb insecurity within the state.
The Governor gave the order when he paid Sallah homage to the Emir of Minna, Alh. Dr. Umar Farouk Bahago at his palace, in Minna, the state capital in continuation of his Emirates tour.
Commiserating with the Emir on the current armed theft assault on his cashier on Tuesday, he assured him that his administration remained dedicated to making sure the safety of lives and property of its residents.
He acknowledged, “we are on top of the situation and the perpetrators will be brought to book. We have also given a marching order for stop and search in the minna metropolis and other parts of the state.”
The Governor maintained that youth restiveness wouldn’t be condoned within the state, whereas warning the members of the judiciary to desist from granting unlawful bail and pardon to culprits.
Bago additionally disclosed that colleges which were closed because of insecurity could be reopened and the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) would return safely to their ancestral properties.
Earlier, commending the Governor for his effort to date in making certain the security of Nigerlites, the Emir of Minna, Alh. Dr. Umar Farouk Bahago urged him to be extra deliberate in taking actions that can make the state a secure haven for all.
He then assured governor Bago of the emirate’s help to the success of the current administration.
The Governor was accompanied by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, the Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Sen. Mohammed Sani Musa, the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Abubakar Usman Jn Gawu, Chief of workers, Alh. Abdullahi Usman Gbatamangi, different high authorities officers and APC chieftains within the state.
