EPL: He’s obvious choice – Chelsea legend tells Pochettino who should become Blues’ new captain

Chelsea legend, Jason Cundy has urged the membership’s supervisor, Mauricio Pochettino to make defender Reece James the membership’s new everlasting captain following Cesar Azpilicueta’s departure.

Recall that Azpilicueta just lately left Chelsea to affix Atletico Madrid.

The Spaniard, who has been Chelsea’s captain for some seasons, left Stamford Bridge after 11 superb years on the Premier League giants.

Speaking on who Pochettino should appoint as Chelsea’s subsequent captain after Azpilicueta’s exit, Cundy advised talkSPORT that James is the obvious choice.

Cundy stated, “If you are going to give the permanent captaincy to anyone, Reece [James] feels like the obvious choice.

“Reece’s fitness levels are the concern. Reece has had injury problems.”
