Troops neutralize three bandits, recover weapons in Mangu, Plateau

The Nigerian Army says troops of 3 Division deployed to quell the crisis in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State have neutralized three bandits.

Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director, Army Public Relations, in a statement, said the operation took place on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the troops responded to distress calls at Mangu general area immediately, and fought gallantly, clearing three bandits.

He said “the troops recovered 3 x AK-47 rifles, 14 rounds of 7.62 mm Special rounds, 1 x Motorcycle and a Constabulary Police Identity card.”

He added that the gallant troops were currently on the trail of bandits who escaped with gunshot wounds during the fire fight.
