Zamfara govt sympathises with families of six slain policemen

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has sympathised with the state police command over the killing of officers by armed bandits.

Media Talk Africa recalls that six police officers were gunned down in Sakajiki Village and at Nahuche Junction in separate attacks last week.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the governor condoled the families of the slain policemen, even as he described the incident as unfortunate.

The governor said that the Zamfara State Government and its citizens deeply appreciated the bravery and patriotism of the personnel who died while performing their duties, noting that they paid the ultimate price so that peace could reign in the state.

“On behalf of the Zamfara State Government, I deeply commiserate with the Nigeria Police Force and families of gallant policemen assassinated in separate bandits’ ambushes at Sakajiki Village and Nahuche Junction.

“My administration will continue to support and work with the security agencies for peace to prevail in our dear state. I urge all people to cooperate and support security agencies in this fight against banditry,” Governor Lawal stated.
