Kano govt to complete Wuju-Wuju Road project before 100 days in office

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has restated his resolve to complete the first phase of the 1.2 kilometres Wuju-Wuju Road project before his first 100 days in office.

Mr Yusuf said this when he paid an inspection visit to assess the level of work as contractors handling the project had been mobilised back to the site.

This is contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Bature Dawakin-Tofa in Kano on Wednesday.

Mr Dawakin-Tofa quoted the governor as saying that the contract was awarded during the second tenure of former Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso’s administration.

“I am a fullfilled man today in the sense that  I gave a lot of contributions toward the conceptualisation and execution of this gigantic project that is the construction of covered sewage conduits and road of 6.7 kilometres along Jakara- Kwarin Gogau River.

“The project was abandoned by the preceding administration after we left in 2015 and was envisaged to mitigate the effects of climate change in Kano,” he said.

He called on the contractor to do what it took in ensuring that the project was completed before the first 100 days of his administration.
