Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, Appoints New Accountant General

In a move aimed at strengthening the financial standing of Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal has appointed Ali-Akilu Mohammed Bungudu as the new Accountant General. The announcement, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada, also included the appointment of Alhaji Idris Shehu as the Deputy Accountant General.

The selection of Ali-Akilu Mohammed Bungudu as the Accountant General aligns with Governor Dauda Lawal’s vision of bringing on board the most competent individuals to drive the state’s rescue mission. With an extensive background in banking, Ali-Akilu is poised to leverage his over 20 years of experience in operations, marketing (Public Sector, Govt Revenue Collection, Retail Banking, and international banking. Prior to his appointment, Ali-Akilu held a leadership position at the Nigerian Representative office of FBN Bank UK LTD, where he oversaw Private Banking, Corporate Banking, and Institutional Banking in the Northern business office.
