Gov Kefas Establishes Committee to Streamline MDAs in Taraba State

In a move to enhance governance in Taraba State, Governor Agbu Kefas has appointed a nine-man committee tasked with the responsibility of streamlining ministries, boards, parastatals, and extra-ministerial departments and agencies.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the governor’s Chief of Staff, Jeji William. The committee’s primary objective is to assess and reorganize various boards, parastatals, and agencies to ensure optimal functionality and effectiveness.

Renowned former Minister of Water Resources, Obadiah Ando, has been appointed as the chairman of the committee. Other notable members include former Head of Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi, former Head of Service to the Taraba State government, Augustine Bazing, and former chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Christopher Adamu.

The committee also comprises Dr. Isa Mohammed Hamza, Habila B. Bala, a representative from the Ministry of Justice, a representative from the Chief of Staff’s office, and the Permanent Secretary, Establishment.

A statement issued in Jalingo, the state capital, revealed that the committee’s main focus is to define the functions and mandates of the MDAs and assign appropriate nomenclatures to them.

According to the statement, the aim of the exercise is to streamline the MDAs, making them more efficient and effective in addressing the contemporary challenges and realities of governance in the state.
