Planned Power Outages to Affect Plateau, Gombe, and Bauchi

Customers of Jos Electricity Distribution (JED) in Plateau, Bauchi, and Gombe states should brace themselves for temporary power outages from August 28 to September 2, according to a statement released by the company.

The planned outages, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., are being implemented by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to facilitate installation work carried out by its Local Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors.

Dr. Friday Elijah, the Head of Corporate Communications at JED, explained that the TCN has scheduled these outages to safely connect the gantry beam of the new APO line to the existing Lafia line-Jos 330kv double circuit.

During this period, there will be an increase in load shedding as the 330KV Jos complex will remain on supply via the Kaduna-Jos 330KV line, according to the statement.

While acknowledging the inconvenience caused, JED appealed to its customers to be patient, assuring them of the company’s commitment to improving services.
