Mining University in Plateau will bring rapid economic development – Senator Plang

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Employment and Productivity, Diket Plang has referred to as for the institution of a Mining University in Jos, Plateau State.

Plang made the request on Tuesday throughout an official go to to the Nigerian Institute of Mining and Geo-Science in Jos.

He stated he had initiated a invoice to repeal the Act establishing the Institute of Mining.

Plang, who represents Plateau Central in the tenth National Assembly, defined that the institution of Mining University will function a car for elevated economic transformation.

“If established, the University will serve as a vehicle for rapid transformation of the Nigerian economy, while its products should be able to provide technical services in all aspects of mining engineering and its allied courses. The choice of Jos is not misplaced, given the abundance of solid minerals in Plateau State”, he acknowledged.
