Anambra state Police Busts Another Kidnap Gang, Rescues Victim

Operatives of Anti Kidnap Squad of Anambra State Police Command, have smashed another kidnap gang, this time at Nnewi Ichi.

The Squad which was on patrol with vigilante men on 13th September, 2023 got information about the kidnapper’s hideout and stormed the place.

A kidnapped victim found in the hideout was rescued and conveyed to a hospital at Nnewi for treatment. One of the suspected kidnappers was arrested.

Operatives recovered One Pump Action Gun and two locally fabricated hand grenades at the hideout.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, while commending Police Operatives and the local Vigilante on this collaboration that has been effective against criminal elements, asked them to sustain the onslaught until crime is reduced to the barest minimum and people can move around safety.

Police Commissioner Commends Judiciary

In a related development, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye has commended the State Judiciary for being alive to its responsibility to the society.

The Commissioner made this remark when was informed that a total of 34 Suspects arraigned for Cultism and related offences were remanded on the order of Court.

He observed that what has militated against efforts to curb crime in the past was the ease with which crime suspects find their way back to the society to commit more crimes even while trial in previous ones were ongoing.

He recalled his meeting with the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice who has been steadfast in lending support to ensure smooth dispensation of justice.

The Commissioner of Police noted that with the cooperation the Command is receiving from critical stakeholders, the war against crime will be won and Anambra State will soon become an investment destination of choice.
