Arsenal Manager Arteta Supports Jorginho Despite Costly Mistake in 2-2 Draw with Tottenham

In the highly anticipated English Premier League (EPL) match between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has chosen not to criticize substitute player Jorginho for his costly mistake that led to the 2-2 draw on Sunday.

Jorginho entered the field at the start of the second half, replacing Declan Rice, with the score level at 1-1. However, it was his error that proved detrimental to Arsenal’s chances of victory. The former Chelsea midfielder was dispossessed by James Maddison, who skillfully set up Heung-Min Son to equalize, resulting in the 2-2 draw.

When questioned about Jorginho’s performance after the game, Arteta took a supportive stance, expressing his fondness for the player and emphasizing that mistakes are an inevitable part of football. Arteta stated, “I love him and we all love him. Errors are a part of football. Players are allowed to make mistakes because they are actively involved in the game. Jorginho is someone who contributes to the team, and we stand by him.”

In addition, Arteta admitted that the equalizing goal had an emotional impact on the team’s pursuit of a third goal, as they were unable to recover their lead in the remaining time.
