NSCDC wins Most Improved Paramilitary Agency of the Year 2023

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has receive an award of the most improved paramilitary agency of the year 2023 by the security watch magazine.

The award was given in a ceremony tagged: “Celebrating Icons of National Security” which took place at the Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.

The Commandant General of NSCDC, Ahmed Audi, has on assumption of office took bold steps to ensure the curtailment of crime in collaboration with sister agencies by establishing the Special Female Squad and the Safe School Initiative.

The twin concepts geared towards securing students and school environments recorded instant success of reducing crime and criminality to the barest minimum around second environments.

The Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Crime Watch Magazine, Mr. Tony Okpe, said “the choice of the NSCDC for the award was based on the visionary and exemplary leadership qualities of the Commandant General whose brainchild is the Special Female Squad and the Safe School Initiative.” 

Mr. Okpe admonished other heads of security agencies to think out of the box in carrying out their statutory responsibilities in order to birth a holistic approach to strategies that will bring about a comprehensive national security by emulating the NSCDC and the Commandant General of the Corps.

The Commandant General was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award as the Best Performing Icon of National Security.

The corps also received other awards such as the Best Performing Operational Female Squad of The Year 2023 and The Best Performing Operational Female Officer of The Year 2023.
