Funke Akindele Denies Snubbing Pasuma, Calls Rumors “Evil”

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindelle has denied rumours that she deliberately ignored fuji music legend Pasuma during a recent event in Lagos.

The speculation arose after a video shared on X showed Pasuma attempting to gain Akindele’s attention while she was conversing with another individual. In the clip, Akindele continues her dialogue, after which Pasuma returns to his seat. The footage quickly spread online, prompting some users to suggest that the actress had snubbed the veteran performer.

X influencer Uoladiti posted the video with the caption, “Moment Funke Akindele snubbed Pasuma in public. This is not looking good at all.” Following the post, Akindele responded on the same platform, stating that she had both greeted and danced with Pasuma at the gathering. “Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity, please. I saw him, greeted him, danced with him. Pasuma is my Egbon. Please stop this evil,” she wrote.

The incident comes amid recent attention to Akindele’s interactions with fellow actress Toyin Abraham. Earlier this month, Akindele was reported to have overlooked Abraham at a movie premiere, leading Abraham to announce she would no longer initiate conversations with the actress.

Both episodes highlight the rapid amplification of social‑media clips and the potential for misinterpretation. As the story circulates, Akindele’s clarification underscores the importance of verifying context before drawing conclusions about personal interactions at public events.
