IGP gets NCPC approval, institutionalizes support for Pilgrimage

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has urged the ten Christian Police Officers nominated for the 2023 pilgrimage in Jerusalem, Israel to be of good conduct and ambassadors of the Police Force and the country during the period of the pilgrimage.

The IGP also said he sought and has got the approval of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, to ensure that the exercise becomes a routine activity.

This was disclosed on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

According to Adejobi, the IGP said he has equally institutionalised the exercise to ensure that subsequent administrations tow the same path.

While calling on the pilgrims to spend the period in sober reflection to positively impact on their policing duty, the IGP said the pilgrimage was initiated and financed by his office in collaboration with some well-meaning Nigerians to encourage Police Officers to be steadfast and uphold the lofty tenets of their faith.
