Kwara is one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria- AIG

The Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 8, Babatunde Ishola Babaita, says available data shows that Kwara State remains one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.

AIG Babaita made this disclosure when he paid a courtesy visit to the state Governor, AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq at the Government House, Ilorin, the state capiatl.

According to him, despite having its shares of crime activities, the security hurdles are still surmountable.

AIG Babaita who is retiring soon from service commended the State Governor for his continued efforts at providing security agencies, particularly the police with the required support to discharge their responsibilities effectively.

Governor AbdulRazaq had earlier discussed security issues concerning the state and how best to tackle them with the police boss.

He appealed to security operatives in the state to further improve on the security of lives and properties of the citizens.

The Governor assured that all efforts would be put in place at ensuring that the people of the state are well protected and pledged that the government will not relent in providing the police and other security agencies adequate equipment.

AbdulRazaq implored the people of the state to shun any act of criminality stressing that the safety of the citizens is paramount to the state government.

Zone Eight (8) of the Police Command, with its headquarters in Lokoja comprises of Kogi and Kwara States.
