Nigeria Vows To revitalise Defence Industries Corporation

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar says the government is determined to revitalise the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) to enable the production of Military equipment and hardware.

The Minister stated this when the Turkish Ambassador, Hidayet Bayraktar paid him a courtesy visit on 5th October, 2023 in Ship House, Abuja.

Badaru said that “Nigeria would continue to partner with Turkey on Government to Government platform on military intelligence sharing and Defence Industries Corporation.”

The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey and leader of the delegation, Hidayet Bayraktar appreciated the Minister for granting them an audience.

He expressed the readiness of his country to heighten the already existing defense collaboration through military intelligence and Defence Corporation.

Bayraktar congratulated Nigeria on its 63rd Independence Anniversary and invited the Ministers for the forthcoming Turkish 100th anniversary.

Nigeria and Turkey share Identical views on regional and International issues such as disarmament, peacekeeping operations and International terrorism.

Present at the event were the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Muhammed Matawalle MON, the Permanent Secretary, Dr Ibrahim Abubakar and other top Management Staff of the Ministry.
