Former Nigerian Minister, Senator Bello Maitama Yusuf, has sadly passed away at the age of 76.
Senator Yusuf, who served as a distinguished Senator from 1999 to 2007, peacefully passed away in the early hours of Friday at his residence in Kano following a brief illness.
Alhaji Hussani Dalhatu, a close family member, confirmed the sorrowful news to the press.
Funeral prayers for the late Sardauna of Dutse will be held at the Emir of Kano’s palace following the Jumu’at prayer.
Yusuf, who was born in Gwaram, Jigawa State, in 1947, had an illustrious political career. He served as the Minister of Interior in 1981 and later assumed the role of Minister of Commerce in 1982.
