The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, remains committed to his campaign and will not withdraw in favor of any other candidate, according to a statement from the party’s Presidential Campaign Council on Sunday. The council characterized recent insinuations about his potential withdrawal as a campaign of calumny, asserting that these claims are being orchestrated by individuals seeking to promote ineffective candidates.
Ladipo Johnson, the spokesperson for the Kwankwaso/NNPP-PCC, addressed the situation in a statement issued in Abuja, titled “Is Kwankwaso still in the race? Is he running to win?” He pointed out that the questions circulating among supporters of other candidates stem from those who have failed the nation and are still vying for the presidency. Johnson emphasized that the campaign against Kwankwaso is well-coordinated and originates from multiple political factions. He noted that these factions initially spread rumors about Kwankwaso stepping down for their less capable candidates.
Johnson expressed sympathy for these political jobbers, suggesting that they struggle to promote their weak candidates, whom he believes have already passed their “sell by dates.” He boldly stated that these candidates should be removed from the political landscape, as they have caused enough harm to the country
