Fani-Kayode: Standing Up for the South, Not Tinubu’s Government

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has dismissed Sheikh Ahmad Gumi’s criticisms of the government, emphasizing his primary concern for the welfare of Southerners. Fani-Kayode made this clear in a recent audiotape he released on his Facebook page.

On Sunday, Fani-Kayode released the audiotape in response to Gumi’s controversial sermon, during which the Sheikh referred to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike as a “satanic person” due to an alleged planned collaboration with Israel for the security of the Federal Capital Territory.

Gumi went on to claim that Muslims would face victimization if the FCT and Israel joined forces, adding that entrusting Nigeria’s national security to Christians and Southerners would be perilous.

Fani-Kayode, unfazed by Gumi’s diatribes against the government, stated, “I am not overly concerned about the rantings of this individual against the government because there are competent individuals within the government who are paid to address such matters, and I am no longer a member of the government.”

However, Fani-Kayode went on to express his worry about Gumi’s derogatory remarks about the Christian community and his disparaging statements towards southerners in general, both Muslims and Christians.
