Enugu Governor, Peter Mbah, Awaits Verdict in Alleged NYSC Certificate Forgery Case Today

Enugu State Governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, will anxiously wait to hear the outcome of the allegations of certificate forgery levelled against him by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) today. The verdict will be delivered at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

In a lawsuit initiated by the governor to challenge the allegations made by the NYSC, Justice Inyang Ekwo will preside over the Federal High Court proceedings and deliver the judgement in a few hours. The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1611/2023, has attracted significant attention.

A notice of judgement delivery has been released and individuals including sympathizers, political followers, and friends of the governor have thronged the courtroom to witness the proceedings.

Before his inauguration on May 29, Governor Mbah took legal action against the NYSC and its Director, Corps Certification, Ibrahim Muhammad. This was in response to the publication of a disclaimer by the NYSC, denying the issuance of a discharge certificate to him on January 6, 2003.

Earlier, on May 15, Justice Ekwo had ordered the NYSC, Muhammad, and their agents to refrain from engaging in any further publications of this nature until the substantive matter is heard and decided upon.
