Tinubu mourns Islamic cleric, Sheikh Yusuf Ali

President Bola Tinubu has expressed grief over the loss of life of foremost Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yusuf Ali, who died within the early hours of Monday, on the age of 73.

The News Agency of Nigeria studies that Sheikh Ali, was a Kano based mostly scholar who held the place of Sarkin Malamai of Gaya Emirate.

Mr Tinubu, in a press release by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, condoled with the household, college students and followers of deceased.

He described the loss of life of the spiritual chief as one which reverberates throughout the nation in view of the late scholar’s broad community of followers, particularly amongst the Tijjaniyya sect in Nigeria and past.

“As a teacher, poet, jurist, Islamic preacher and herbalist, Sheikh Yusuf Ali has impacted a multitude of people throughout his life.

“His life was dedicated to the search and propagation of knowledge,” the president mentioned.

Mr Tinubu sympathised with the deceased household, his followers, the federal government and folks of Kano State, and the Nigerian Muslim neighborhood over the loss.

Mr Tinubu prayed for the repose of his soul.
