Imo Governorship Election: INEC Refutes Claims of Withdrawing Upload Passwords for Election Results

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected allegations circulating on Saturday that the commission had retracted the passwords required for uploading election results from the Local Government Supervisors in Imo state.

Describing the reports as false and misleading, the electoral body clarified that the information was nothing more than a fabrication.

The correspondence was issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi.

“To dispel any uncertainty, it is important to note that Presiding Officers (POs), not APO1s, bear the responsibility for uploading results to the IReV.

“All passwords have been duly and securely released for use by authorised officials in accordance with the Commission’s protocols.

“The public should anticipate further attempts to spread such unfounded allegations before, during, and after the elections, and should continue to disregard them,” Oyekanmi emphasized.
