CSO Commends Nigerian Military for Upholding Election Security

In a recent statement, the Coalition for Good Governance and Security (CGGS) expressed its gratitude towards the Nigerian military for their commendable role in ensuring the security of the off-cycle election held in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi states.

National Coordinator of the Coalition, Ishaku Aliyu, emphasised the pivotal role played by the Armed Forces, highlighting their commitment to neutrality, as per the assurances given by the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa.

Aliyu lauded the military’s efforts in minimizing security challenges during the election and acknowledged the significant contribution of the defense chief in advancing democracy in Nigeria.

He stated, “We acknowledge the firm stance articulated by the CDS, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards criminal activities during the election.”

“Our assessment of the off-cycle election in the three states revealed the praiseworthy performance of our military.”

“Despite attempts by certain political figures to embroil the military in the electoral process, we commend them for their impartiality. Once again, CGGS applauds the CDS for his exceptional leadership.”
