Freedom at Last: Former Benue LG Chairperson Released from Abductors

The former chairman of Okpokwu Local Government Area in Benue State, Hon Amina Audu, has finally regained her freedom after being abducted by armed herdsmen.

Her harrowing ordeal began as she was en route to Makurdi, only to be snatched by gunmen alongside two others, and forcefully taken into the bush along the Makurdi – N’aka road on Monday.

Reliable sources have disclosed that she was released on Thursday evening, in robust health and reunited with her family.

Several attempts to obtain official confirmation of her release from the Benue State Police Command’s spokesperson, Catherine Anene, yielded no response.
