The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has made an unequivocal commitment to combat gender-based violence within the scope of its operations, revealed the Force Commander, Major General Ibrahim Ali. He made this declaration at the commencement of a workshop addressing sexual abuse and gender-based violence in conflict environments, convened on Monday, 20th November 2023 in N’djemena, Chad.

Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Chief of Military Public Information MNJTF N’djamena Chad, explained that the workshop was crafted to augment the participants’ comprehension of the intricate dynamics of sexual exploitation and gender-based violence in operational contexts.

General Ali underscored the MNJTF’s role in liberating numerous women and girls from the clutches of terrorists in recent times, underscoring the force’s dedication to upholding human rights and fortifying the protection of vulnerable populations.

Expressing gratitude towards the African Union Mission Support Team for organizing the training, the Force Commander acknowledged the paramount significance of addressing and preventing gender-based violence within the operational framework.

The MNJTF’s unwavering stance against gender-based violence during operations serves as a testament to its pledge to foster a safe and secure environment for all individuals affected by conflict and instability.
