Zenith Labour Party Faces Setback as Key Leaders Resign

The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has been shaken by the resignations of its Youth Leader, Abdulrauf Aseneshi Ladan, and Nasarawa State Vice Chairman, Mallam Muhammad Egye Onyapa. Both leaders submitted their official letters of resignation to the party’s Chairman in the Obi ward on January 3rd. Ladan’s resignation took immediate effect, while Onyapa followed suit on the same day.

This double blow comes in the wake of another setback for the ZLP, as former lawmaker Musa Salihu Iyimoga recently departed from the party to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Iyimoga, who previously represented Doma North Constituency in the 6th Assembly, has found a new political home in the APC.

Speculations are rife that the resignations of Ladan and Onyapa might signal a larger trend, as both individuals are believed to be loyalists of Iyimoga. There are strong indications that they may join forces with their former lawmaker in a show of solidarity. This latest development poses a significant challenge for the ZLP as it navigates internal upheaval and potential realignment of loyalties within its ranks.
