A Glimpse into Power and Politics: Femi Adesina’s Memoir Launch Anticipates Nigeria’s Elite

Next week, Nigeria is set to witness a gathering of political heavyweights and influential personalities at the launch of Femi Adesina’s memoir, “Working with Buhari,” published by Safari Books. The memoir encapsulates Adesina’s experiences during his eight-year tenure as the special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity.

The event, scheduled for Tuesday, January 16 at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, is anticipated to be a historic occasion with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a special guest of honor. Notably, it could mark the first public appearance of former President Buhari and his successor, President Tinubu, following the handover on May 29, 2023.

In addition to the distinguished guests, the lineup includes former Head of State and chairman of the occasion, Yakubu Gowon, and co-Chairman, retired army general, I.B.M Haruna, alongside a host of other dignitaries. A royal delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by Prince Abdulaziz Bin Faisal Al Saud, has confirmed their attendance, further elevating the event’s international significance. Furthermore, prominent businessman, Mohammed Indimi, is poised to take on the role of chief launcher for the memoir.

Garba Deen Muhammad, the Chairman of the Planning Committee for the book launch, highlighted the uniqueness of the memoir, stating that it will provide unprecedented insights due to Adesina’s unwavering loyalty to former President Buhari. According to Muhammad, the memoir will delve into Femi Adesina’s deep-rooted admiration and loyalty to Buhari, offering a distinct perspective on the enigmatic bond between the two men.

The memoir, a firsthand account of Adesina’s frontline involvement in Buhari’s government, promises to unveil a compelling narrative of power, politics, and personal convictions.
