Nigerian Air Force Strikes Neutralize Terrorists and Eradicate Weapons Cache in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force has reported significant advancements in the ongoing Operation Hadin Kai, aimed at clearing the Northeast region of terrorist remnants. According to the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, AVM Edward Gabkwet, a recent operation conducted on January 5 near Parisu resulted in a major victory against insurgents.

Parisu, located near the infamous Sambisa Forest, had been identified as a site where terrorists were storing weapons and ammunition. This prompted the Nigerian Air Force to launch airstrikes, resulting in the destruction of terrorist logistics and the neutralization of 12 terrorists. The successful operation also incapacitated the terrorists’ ability to launch attacks on both civilians and military personnel.

Further airstrikes were carried out on January 6, approximately 1.5 kilometers southwest of Tumbun Agiri in the Lake Chad region. Intelligence had indicated a continuous gathering of armed terrorists in the area, prompting targeted strikes that led to the destruction of vehicles, motorcycles, and the elimination of several terrorists.

Additionally, an air reconnaissance mission on January 2 resulted in the striking of three canoes loaded with suspected Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at Tumbun Alura, causing a significant explosion. Similar successful strikes were executed at Tumbun Buwari and Sabon Tumbun, targeting terrorist structures within the Lake Chad region.

The relentless efforts of the air and ground components of Operation Hadin Kai have significantly weakened terrorist activities in the region, demonstrating the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to eradicating threats to national security.

This latest success exemplifies the NAF’s determination to neutralize terrorist elements and dismantle their operational capabilities, safeguarding both the civilian population and military personnel. The precision and efficacy of these operations underscore the Nigerian Air Force’s pivotal role in combating insurgency and securing the nation’s northeastern borders.
