Nigeria’s Falconets Squad Revealed for 2024 WWCQ Showdown with Burundi

Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team head coach, Chris Danjuma, has officially announced the 19-player squad set to compete in the 2024 Women’s U-20 World Cup qualifying match against Burundi.

The highly anticipated first-leg clash is scheduled to take place at the Azam Sports Complex in Dar es Salaam this Sunday, with the return fixture set for the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja a week later.

Coach Danjuma has placed his trust in key players such as goalkeeper Faith Omilana, Taiwo Afolabi, Aminat Folorunso, and Opeyemi Ajakaye, highlighting the team’s reliance on seasoned talent.

Adding to the excitement, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed South African referee Nonjabulo Nonhle Ndlela to officiate the crucial match in Tanzania. Ndlela will be supported by her compatriots as assistant referees Maneo Evodia Tau and Nandipha Menze, while Nteboheleng Theresia Setoko from Lesotho will serve as the fourth official.

This fixture not only marks a significant moment for the Falconets but also sets the stage for an intense battle as the team vies for a coveted spot in the upcoming World Cup. With the spotlight on these rising stars, all eyes will be on their performance in this crucial qualifying encounter.
