Terem Moffi set to join Super Eagles squad in Abidjan for AFCON 2023

Talented OGC Nice striker, Terem Moffi, is scheduled to link up with the Super Eagles squad in Abidjan next Sunday. Media Talk Africa has learned that the 24-year-old will miss Nigeria’s opening 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Group A fixture against Equatorial Guinea, as he is a late call-up following Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface’s unfortunate injury-forced withdrawal from the competition.

Moffi’s club, OGC Nice, has granted him permission to join the national team after their league match against Stade Rennes on Saturday. This means that the prolific forward will be available for selection when Nigeria squares off against hosts Cote d’Ivoire in their second Group A encounter.

Additionally, Leicester City sensation Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to join the Super Eagles in Abidjan after completing treatment for a muscular injury. These developments underscore the potential of the Super Eagles as they aim to make waves in the prestigious continental tournament.
