JAMB Registrar Commends Government’s Probe of Fake Universities and Certificates

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has expressed his support for the Federal Government’s efforts to investigate the proliferation of fake universities and certificates in Nigeria. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Ibadan, Mr. Oloyede commended the steps being taken to address this concerning issue.

Acknowledging the inadequacies in the country’s education system, Mr. Oloyede remained optimistic about its ongoing improvement and future prospects. He praised the Minister of Education’s decision to establish a committee to delve into the matter, emphasizing the importance of deriving effective solutions without exacerbating existing challenges.

“The committee’s findings will provide us with a factual basis to address this issue,” stated Oloyede, highlighting the significance of evidence-based interventions. Additionally, he emphasized the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in furthering the advancement of the education sector. Furthermore, he assured that JAMB would continue to implement and enhance innovative measures to uphold its standard of work and improve educational quality overall.
