Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has asserted that his administration has successfully stabilized the state for growth and development during his first term. He made this statement while addressing Kwara professionals based in Lagos over the weekend, as reported by his spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Monday. In his account of stewardship since taking office in 2019, AbdulRazaq highlighted the measurable progress achieved across various sectors.
The governor emphasized the deliberate efforts made to spread development throughout the state, expressing satisfaction that the people of Kwara now possess a stronger sense of ownership over their state than ever before. He stated, “What we have done is stabilize Kwara for growth and development.” AbdulRazaq outlined several initiatives, including numerous road projects, a sustainable development plan, an agricultural master plan, and a new master plan for the capital city, with additional plans for other regions of the state. He also mentioned the establishment of various industrial parks, including one in Eiyenkorin, another in Kwara South, and an agro-processing factory in Kwara North.
Furthermore, the governor noted that his administration inherited a collapsed basic education sector, with Colleges of Education suffering from unpaid salaries and lack of accreditation. He reported significant improvements in infrastructure, human resource development, and worker welfare, alongside the introduction of technology aimed at giving the children of Kwara a head start in life. AbdulRazaq also highlighted the state’s growing appeal for positive attention and investments, mentioning an upcoming $50 million Olam project, for which land is being allocated, as well as a share of the $10 billion renewable energy project funded by the US government.
