Fabio Capello Criticizes Roma’s Disrespectful Sacking of Mourinho

Former AS Roma manager Fabio Capello has expressed strong disapproval of the club’s decision to dismiss Jose Mourinho, condemning the lack of respect shown by The Friedkin Group, the club’s owners.

In an interview with Sky Italia, Capello condemned the American owners’ approach to management, citing the dismissals of legendary figures like Paolo Maldini at AC Milan and now Mourinho at Roma. Capello emphasized a need for sensitivity and respect in handling such decisions, highlighting the importance of communication and dignified treatment for those involved.

Expressing his surprise at the abrupt sacking, Capello compared it to his own experience with Russia, where he received news of his departure while en route to the airport, lamenting the lack of consideration in such professional matters.

Roma’s turbulent season and subsequent replacement of Mourinho with former captain Daniele De Rossi have sparked widespread debate, with Capello’s critique adding to the intense scrutiny surrounding the club’s recent actions.
