Nyesom Wike: “No FCT Project Stopped Under Tinubu’s Leadership”

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, expressed satisfaction during an inspection tour in Abuja, stating that under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, no FCT Administration project has halted. Wike proclaimed that numerous projects are progressing, with expectations for completion and inauguration in the coming months.

“We believe that after May, and before December, some of the projects will be handed over to the members of the public,” Wike said, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the public.

During the inspection, Wike highlighted the significant progress of the ongoing projects and conveyed his contentment, particularly at Guzape Lot II, where work is advancing rapidly. However, he raised concerns about a lawmaker obstructing the progress of one of the roads, emphasizing that public projects should not be impeded by individual interests.

Furthermore, Wike expressed discontent with the barriers erected by the Central Bank of Nigeria, obstructing a road project in the area. He firmly stated that public interests should not be compromised and urged the institution to allow the utilization of public assets for the public good.

In addressing the contractors responsible for road resurfacing projects, Wike expressed dissatisfaction with the observed inactivity at some sites and demanded tangible progress instead of memoranda. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to awarding contracts with financial backing and emphasized the necessity of physical presence and progress over bureaucratic communications.

Wike’s proactive approach and impassioned commitment to public projects under President Tinubu’s governance exemplify a dedicated leadership focused on delivering tangible results. His unwavering stance on public interest and project accountability underscores the administration’s dedication to upholding its promises to the Nigerian people.
