NiMet Anticipates 3-Day Weather Outlook: Sunshine and Haziness to Prevail

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, has forecasted sunny and hazy weather conditions from Sunday to Tuesday across the country. NiMet’s weather outlook, unveiled in Abuja on Saturday, predicts a predominantly sunny and hazy atmosphere in the northern and North Central regions during this period.

A moderate dust haze with visibility ranging from 2km to 5km is expected over the inland states throughout the forecast period. Moreover, early morning mist or fog is anticipated over the coastal states, with patches of clouds expected in a hazy atmosphere during the afternoon and evening hours.

On Monday, NiMet anticipates a continuation of the sunny and hazy atmosphere over the Northern, North Central, and Inland states. Coastal states, however, are likely to experience early morning mist or fog, with subsequent patches of clouds amidst a hazy atmosphere during the afternoon and evening hours.

Moving to Tuesday, NiMet expects a slight dust haze over the northern states, while the North Central and Inland states are likely to witness a sunny and hazy atmosphere. The coastal states, on the other hand, are projected to have patches of clouds amidst a hazy atmosphere throughout the day.

NiMet has also issued a precautionary statement, warning the public about the presence of suspended dust particles and advising individuals with respiratory conditions, such as asthma, to take necessary precautions. Furthermore, airline operators are urged to stay updated with NiMet’s weather reports for effective operational planning.
