Former Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, to be Laid to Rest on February 23

The family of the late Rotimi Akeredolu, former Governor of Ondo State, has announced that his burial will take place on February 23. The eldest son of the deceased, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, released the burial arrangement in Ondo on Monday following the passing of Mr. Akeredolu on December 27, 2023, at a hospital in Germany after battling a long-term illness.

According to the released arrangements, the burial rites will span from February 15 to February 25 in Ibadan, Akure, and Owo. A lying-in-state ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, February 21, at the State Sports Complex in Akure, and the funeral service will be held on February 23 at St. Andrews Church, Owo, followed by interment later in Owo.

Expressing their gratitude, the Akeredolu family extended appreciation to all who offered their condolences and support during this challenging period, acknowledging that the outpouring of love and kindness strengthened their faith in God Almighty and reaffirmed their dedication to serving humanity.
