The police in Plateau State paraded seventeen suspects linked to recent killings in the region. Assistant Inspector General of Police, Ebong Eyibio, showcased the suspects at the Plateau State Police Command headquarters in Jos. Eight of the suspects were connected to the Christmas Eve attacks in 2023, with the remaining nine apprehended for involvement in a recent security breach in Mangu LGA.

Eyibio, represented by the State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer DSP Alfred Alabo, reported the recovery of ten corpses after the latest incident in Mangu. He detailed the successful repelling of an attack on villages in Mangu LGA, emphasizing the swift intervention of police officers to thwart the attempted assault. Additionally, efforts to prevent arsonists from setting fire to worship centers in Panyam District were lauded, with the deployment of additional Special Intervention personnel to bolster security in Mangu LGA.

Eyibio stressed the zero tolerance for criminality under his leadership and urged the public to remain calm and collaborate with security agencies to maintain peace and order in the area.

This development comes following Eyibio’s deployment to Plateau State after the Christmas Eve attacks, indicating the intensified efforts of law enforcement to restore stability and public confidence in the region.
