A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has shed insight from the 2023 Presidential election, saying that the party missed a crucial opportunity for victory by not leveraging the combined votes of Kwankwaso and Obi, who were both former PDP members..

George, who was speaking in an exclusive interview with Airse TV, noted that had the party strategically united with Kwankwaso and Obi, they could have triumphed over their opponent, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The politician and elder statement lamented the internal divisions in the party, noting that party unity was paramount for success in elections.

On the figures presented by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Olabode George said; “Where was Kwankwaso from? Where was Obi from? They all came from the PDP. If you add up all the figures recorded by INEC (for Kwankwaso and Obi) we would have won the election. But we didn’t do what is right.”
