Tragic Attack: Kwara Monarch Killed, Wife and Others Abducted by Bandits

A horrifying incident unfolded in Koro community, Kwara State, as unidentified gunmen stormed the area, killing the community’s monarch, General Segun Aremu, (rtd), and abducting his wife and two others. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has denounced the senseless act and urged security agencies to spare no effort in rescuing the abducted individuals and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The Governor expressed solidarity with the grieving community and vowed to ensure the criminals face the full consequences of their actions. Meanwhile, the state police command in Ilorin has confirmed the incident and initiated investigations, along with a search and rescue operation for the kidnapped victims.

Koro community in Kwara State is located near several Ekiti towns where similar attacks on monarchs have occurred recently, raising concerns about security in the region. This tragic event underscores the ongoing threat posed by banditry and violence in the area, leaving communities in mourning and authorities on high alert.
