Court Orders Suspension of Benue APC Chairman Amid Party Infighting

A High Court in Benue State has issued a restraining order against the suspended state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Austin Agada. This prohibits Agada from portraying himself as the party’s chairman following his suspension by ward executives on Tuesday.
In response, Agada has accused the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Benue State, Paul Biam, and the Commissioner for Water Resources, Environment and Climate, Ugwu Odoh, of orchestrating a police and army-led attack on the party’s secretariat during a press conference held by the Owukpa Ehaje Ward One chairman and his executive members.
According to the APC chairman of Owukpa Ehaje Ward One, the entire executive committee was present at the secretariat to express support for Agada and distance themselves from those who suspended him.
In his defense, Agada claimed that the attack was a result of an alleged plot to forcibly remove him as chairman over accusations of anti-party activities.
