NAHCON Sets 2024 Hajj Fare at N4.8 Million, Secures Discounts for Intending Pilgrims

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has announced the 2024 Hajj fare for intending pilgrims, fixing it at N4.8 million for those departing from the Southern center. The chairman of NAHCON, Jalal Arabi, disclosed this in a statement released by the commission’s spokesperson, Fatima Sanda-Usara, in Abuja on Saturday.

Arabi emphasized that the commission had managed to obtain significant discounts from service providers in Saudi Arabia, thereby mitigating the cost of the pilgrimage for intending pilgrims. He highlighted that currency volatility in Nigeria could have escalated the 2024 Hajj cost to N6 million, but the commission’s intervention led to the reduction in expenses. Consequently, intending pilgrims from the Southern, Northern, Yola, and Maiduguri centers are required to pay N4,899,000, N4,699,000, and N4,679,000, respectively, for the 2024 Hajj.

Arabi urged intending pilgrims to complete their Hajj fare payment by Monday, Feb. 12, to facilitate the timely transfer of funds in order to meet the Feb. 25 deadline. He reassured the commitment of the commission to ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj for all intending pilgrims despite the challenges posed by foreign exchange, while expressing gratitude for the understanding and cooperation of the Nigerian Muslim community during these times.
