The Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate, Peter Uzokwe, has clinched victory in the rerun election for Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency of Anambra, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Prof. Charles Nweke, the INEC Returning Officer, declared Uzokwe the winner with 25,518 votes, defeating the Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Uchenna Elodimuo, who obtained 25,412 votes. Uzokwe’s triumph marks a significant political shift, as he unseats Elodimuo, who previously held the position. The rerun election was conducted following a court order to determine the rightful winner. The outcome underscores the intensifying political landscape in the region and sets the stage for a new era of representation for the constituents.
