Bola Tinubu’s Intervention Brings Peace and Independence to Rivers State’s Government

In a significant development, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has acknowledged that President Bola Tinubu’s intervention has fostered the independence and harmonious functioning of the executive, legislature, and judiciary in Rivers State. Wike emphasized that the restoration of peace and the autonomous operation of all three arms of government are the direct result of President Tinubu’s involvement.

Speaking to journalists about his political dispute with Fubara, Wike expressed gratitude for the current state of affairs, stating, “The Executive, Legislature, and the Judiciary are all functioning independently. All thanks to the President.” Previously, a contentious political clash ensued between Wike and Fubara regarding the state’s leadership, culminating in the torching of the state legislative chambers by lawmakers purportedly aligned with Fubara, three months ago.

Amidst the turmoil, several of Wike’s loyal commissioners and lawmakers resigned from the state executive council and switched allegiance to the All Progressives Congress, APC. However, President Tinubu’s timely intervention mitigated the discord and compelled the conflicting parties to sign a peace agreement.

As a component of this reconciliation, Fubara candidly reappointed and inaugurated the commissioners, symbolizing a pivotal step towards stability and cohesiveness in the governance of Rivers State.
