Yobe State Declares Public Holiday to Honor Late Former Governor Bukar Ibrahim

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has declared Wednesday, February 7th, as a public holiday to observe three days of prayer for the late former governor, Bukar Ibrahim. Mamman Mohammed, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the governor, made this announcement during a press briefing in Damaturu on Tuesday.

According to Mohammed, the designated day is for offering prayers for the former governor who passed away in Saudi Arabia on Sunday. The Yobe State government, under the stewardship of Governor Buni, has taken charge of overseeing the funeral rites to pay homage to the late governor. The three-day prayer sessions will be held at the Government House Mosque in Damaturu.

Governor Buni, along with government officials and the deceased’s family, has been receiving condolences from sympathizers within and outside the state at the Government House in Damaturu.
