Senate Postpones Security Chiefs’ Meeting Due to Key Officials’ Absence

The eagerly anticipated meeting between the Nigerian Senate and the country’s Service Chiefs was halted due to the absence of top officials, including the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, among others. This setback occurred when the Senate had summoned these security leaders and heads of security agencies for an interface. President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, expressed disappointment about the absence of key figures and emphasized the importance of their input in tackling the nation’s security challenges. Despite the presence of other security officials, the meeting was adjourned due to the absence of crucial personnel. The delay underscored the gravity of Nigeria’s security situation, calling for a unified and comprehensive approach to address the crisis at hand.
