Outcry Over Traditional Rulers’ Murders and School Abduction in Ekiti State

The recent killing of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State and the abduction of school pupils and staff have sparked outrage and calls for action. The Association of Ekiti Traditional Chieftaincy Title Holders (AETCTH) has strongly condemned these violent acts and urged governments to bolster security measures.

In a joint statement, AETCTH’s Chairman, High Chief Olu Ogunsakin, and Public Relations Officer, High Chief S .A Esan, expressed deep sorrow for the victims’ families and communities. They also recognized the efforts of State Governor Mr. Biodun Oyebanji in addressing the situation.

The association called for increased support to security agencies, emphasizing the need for advanced equipment to combat crime, especially in the Southwest region. Furthermore, they offered to collaborate on security initiatives and encouraged authorities to empower local security outfits across all levels of government.

These tragic events have prompted widespread concern and demand for proactive measures to ensure the safety of citizens and uphold the integrity of traditional institutions in Ekiti State.
