Call to Ban Miyetti Allah Vigilante Group Sparks Controversy in Nasarawa State

The Forum of Ethnic Youth Presidents in Nasarawa State has demanded the prohibition of the newly established Nomad Vigilante Group by Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, a Fulani socio-cultural organization. In a press conference held in Lafia, the forum expressed concerns about the group’s suspicious nature and urged the Federal Government to take immediate action.

Comrade Dauda Yileni, the president of the forum, emphasized the need for vigilance and caution due to potential security risks associated with the vigilante group’s activities. The forum also called for the immediate redeployment of all heads of conventional security agencies who attended the group’s inauguration on January 17th in Lafia. This demand stemmed from concern over the perceived endorsement of the vigilante group by security officials.

Furthermore, Comrade Yileni stressed the importance of equipping security agencies with the necessary resources and training to enhance intelligence gathering. The forum’s stance has sparked controversy and drawn attention to the delicate balance between cultural organizations and security in the region.
