Police Demand N50,000 Whenever They Stop Us —Okada riders protest

Commercial Okada riders, have cried out over what they describe as the extortion exacted on them by police whenever they stopped them.

Some of the aggrieved commercial bike riders in Ikorodu who expressed their grievances to the government have organised a protest over the incessant attitudes of the police in the community.

However, one of the protesters, who happened to be bike riders, also gave his take on the issue.

According to him, whenever commercial bike riders are stopped, the police collect a sum of N50,000 from the riders unnecessarily.

In a video posted by Sahara TV, some other bike riders also lament the unceasing extortion of money from them by the police, while one disclosed that a number of bikes have been permanently confiscated by the police.

According to the video, “Whenever we are stopped, they collect N50,000 unnecessarily.”.
