Otunba Segun Adewale, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, has pointed to internal disunity and mismanagement of election funds as the key factors behind the party’s repeated electoral defeats in the state. Speaking to reporters in Lagos, Adewale, also known as Aeroland, expressed concern over the lack of cohesion within the party’s leadership.

He specifically cited the mismanagement of election funds, alleging that a significant portion of the funds released for the 2023 elections did not reach the party’s grassroots members. Adewale emphasized that unless these issues are addressed, the PDP would continue to struggle to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.

Furthermore, Adewale accused certain top party leaders of engaging in anti-party activities, claiming that some members of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council had compromised during the 2023 general elections. He even went as far as to claim that he possessed video evidence of PDP leaders working in favor of the APC.

The former chairman’s revelations shed light on the challenges facing the PDP in Lagos and call into question the party’s ability to secure electoral victories in the future. Adewale’s concerns highlight broader issues of party unity, financial transparency, and integrity that resonate beyond the boundaries of Lagos, potentially influencing PDP’s strategies at the national level.
