Cote d’Ivoire Coach Reveals Goal to Secure Third AFCON Title Against Nigeria

Cote d’Ivoire’s head coach, Emerse Fae, has expressed the team’s determination to clinch the Africa Cup of Nations trophy and secure a third victory for their country. The team, known as Les Elephants, is gearing up to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the final match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the Alassanne Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan. Despite initial setbacks, the hosts have staged a remarkable comeback, earning a spot in the final and standing on the brink of replicating their 1992 and 2015 successes.

Fae conveyed the team’s optimism during a media interaction at the Palacais de la culture in Abidjan. “Tomorrow, we have a great opportunity to keep the trophy at home. We know that when you organize a tournament, it is difficult to go on and win it,” he stated. “We have made the final and tomorrow, we have the opportunity to achieve this feat and at the same time, add a third star to the orange jersey of Côte d’Ivoire.”
